Sometimes I meet my clients before hand and know exactly what to expect. Sometimes, I don't. Prior to Shantel & Evan's special day, I had communicated almost exclusively with Shantel's best friend, Mary so when I pulled in the parking lot and spotted a handsome guys standing under an umbrella in a bright blue blazer and the most bad ass driving shoes I've ever seen, I knew it was going to be an amazing elopement!
Lisa and Jeremy had a beautiful ceremony, and I'm happy to have been their wedding photographer and to be able to witness and capture all the special moments between these two and their family. Lisa was gorgeous in her delicately detailed wedding gown, her bridesmaids were gorgeous and had some awesome taste in getting ready music, and the guys were a fun, cheerful, and carefree bunch to work with for this wonderful wedding celebration.
Chelsea & Matt have been together a little over 5 1/2 years. Chelsea was hanging out at a local bar with her cousin when she and Matt started talking. After sharing a slow dance at the bar, the two were inseparable. Even though Crystal said "Friends don't let friends date Matt Rhodes", Chelsea stuck things out, luckily for Matt lol.
When I first spoke to Tommy & Jessica about their wedding, it was mainly Tommy that had all the questions and wanted to make sure everything was perfect. When I met with them in person, it was Tommy who had the timeline ready to go and all the other information I needed. I later found out that this isn't normally how Tommy is. During his brother's speech at the wedding, it became very clear to me that this was really because Tommy was making sure their wedding day was perfect for Jessica.
It takes one minute in the same room as these two to see the love that they share. I have to admit, I'm not sure I've ever seen a couple like Tony & Kaitlin. They are both so in tune to each other, that its as if no one else is in the room, but somehow at the same time, they make everyone around them feel welcome and loved.
Amber & Nick chose to celebrate their love in front of their very closest friends and family. In front of the Eva K. Bowling Library in Waynesburg, PA, these two vowed to love one another through all their adventures, multiple Subaru's, and as many dogs as possible. With such a small wedding ceremony, it was easy to focus on all their happiness and the emotions of everyone involved.
On October 1st, 2016, I woke up crossing my fingers that the rain that was supposed to hit us would miss us or at least not last long. Luckily it cleared up while Rachael and her girls prepped for her big day at her parents' house. Rachael's parents house made the perfect setting for her photos. Not only did the house have windows that filled the rooms with natural light, but I'm sure her parents loved having the house filled with all of Rachael's friends one more time.
Being able to be there to witness friends vow to spend their lives together is already an amazing honor. Its even better when you're able to capture that special day for them. I am so fortunate to have been able to be there at Hotel Morgan in Morgantown, WV to capture Jess & Jen's special day. Small, family weddings are so much more intimate.
Megan & Jordan's wedding is one that will forever be close to my heart. Through our meetings and emails, Megan and I were fully invested in hearing the details of each other's weddings. This year I had the opportunity to shoot my first weddings after being married. Somehow, I fell even more in love with capturing weddings and Megan & Jordan's was one that I fell in love with.
Tiffany & Steven are both in the education field. They may be in very different atmospheres, but they are both educators. As most of you know, education majors seems to have a special place in my heart so it should come as no surprise that I absolutely love this couple. I had the opportunity to meet Steven a few times through a mutual friend before he & Tiffany became engaged. I also had the opportunity to meet them as a couple at a mutual friend's party before their wedding, and I have to say, they're amazing together.
I met up with Tiffany and her girls at the Izazzu Salon in Pittsburgh, PA to capture them getting prepped for the big day. Not only did Izazzu do an amazing job with their hair and make up, but they have a gorgeous set up. From there, we walked a few blocks over to the Omni William Penn Hotel where Tiffany would put on her dress and Steven would finish the final touches on his amazing tuxedo. Fun fact, I love a classic tuxedo look. You can't beat that for classy wedding portraits! ;)
Tiffany & Steven decided to have a small, intimate ceremony and reception with their closest family & friends. The Omni William Penn is gorgeous inside and out. It was the perfect place for an intimate ceremony complete with golden Chivari chairs and portraits of their life together. Their wedding featured so many little perfections that showcased their personalities. From the photos around the room to the cake with a Nightmare Before Christmas topper complete with silhouettes representing their fur children.
It rained after the ceremony, but no worries! The Omni has tons of places to capture portraits, besides, rain is good luck! We also managed to sneak outside for some night portraits on the street.
