Lisa & Jeremy's West Virginia Engagement Portraits
I’m forever thankful for clients and couples that just put all of their trust in me with their portraits. When Lisa, Jeremy, and I started chatting about locations for their engagement portraits Coopers Rock came up. When I found out that these two love spending time in the woods hiking and looking for deer sheds, I jumped at the chance to hike up to Ravens Rock for their portraits.
The issue was, none of us had ever hiked this trail before and while this hike is not bad at all on a normal day, it may have been a little more than we expected in dress clothes and with camera gear, especially after a week’s worth of rain. I have to give it to these two though, they trekked basically through a stream for half of the way and never complained.
I like to think that the view and portraits at the top were well worth the while. I know its a muddy mess of a hike that I’d gladly make again for portraits, just maybe not in white high top Chucks. That was a mistake I won’t make again lol.
Jeremy & Lisa met while teaching together in Hundred, WV. As luck would have it, Lisa thought Jeremy was on his prep period when he would casually drop by but really, he was just trying to get to know her.
Before meeting Jeremy, Lisa never dreamt that she would love spending her free time in the woods either hunting or looking for sheds, but now she’s in love with it. Jeremy seemed to know exactly what he was doing by buying Lisa gifts that were hunting related for every holiday and special occasion.
This couple was so much fun to work with both for their engagement portraits in West Virginia and their wedding photography in Pennsylvania.
