Somehow, I was lucky enough to capture two elopements in one week and I have to tell you, they're quickly becoming my favorite thing to capture. Eloping allows the couple to relax, take every minute in, and have a little secret just to themselves even if it's only for a few hours. Plus, when you elope, you can get views like this for your portraits ;) Samantha & Matthew opted to elope at the overlook at Ravens Rock in Morgantown, WV.
Samantha & Matt knew they wanted their special day to be about the two of them and their 6 month old daughter, and no one else. This meant we could hike the 45 minute trail into Ravens Rock at Coopers Rock and enjoy every minute of it.
If you've never hiked this trail before, what you don't realize is that if we get any rain at all in the week before, its a muddy mess. Sam didn't let that bother her one bit. She hiked the entire way in to the overlook in her wedding dress and sandals. And Matt? Oh no big deal, he just carried their sleepy 6 month old daughter the entire way. These two were troopers, seriously. I'm so lucky and thankful to have clients who appreciate my art and my work and will do whatever it takes for the outcome.
Besides the four of us, two of Sam's best friends joined us for their elopement. Her friend JD was their officiant while their friend Katelynn kept their daughter Charlie busy while they tied the knot. I know it was really special that these two best friends were there to join Sam & Matt on their special day.
The views at Ravens Rock are absolutely stunning. This is my favorite view at Coopers Rock. It really gives you an amazing feeling to take in Almost Heaven, West Virginia from this vantage point.
